To Lord Vincent, his favorite servant, Adonis, has always appeared weak and fragile. This thought is further reinforced when Adonis becomes permanently injured in a horse-riding accident. In order to protect him, Vincent starts to keep his distance from Adonis, but that only triggers the servant to desire his master even more.
